AMAZE ME

"Amaze Me" (Z Records; 1999)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

Good, old-fashioned late-70s/early 80s style hard rock with chunky guitars, pounding drums and lyrics that range from the thoughtful to the funny to the downright humorous. The kind of stuff bands like Foreigner and Sweet used to pump out. Highlights include the first track, "God's Gift to Women," "It Seems So Hollywood" and "Love Is Like a Fire."

Amaze Me: Peter Broman: all instruments and background vocals; Conny Lind, lead vocals.

Rating Guide:

A classic. This record will kick your ass.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
