BIASTFEAR

"Demo" (Self-produced; 2000)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

Nu-metal-ish though it may be, BiastFear has a solid rock edge that stands them apart from other bands of that genre. The two-track CD sampler we received contains two very different tracks. The first, "In Throughout," has little or no similarities to the rap/rock one might expect from the nu-metal tag. However, the second track, "Coming Down," is a razor-sharp nu-metal track with a hip-hop vocal that doesn't blends perfectly with the buzzing guitars and Biohazard-type chorus screams. Truly, a unique sound.
