"Tempest" (Big Bad Wolf/Headbangers; 2022)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

"Tempest," by Dutch rockers Bladecrusher, is nothing if not big. With its pulverizing guitars, its speeding train paces and its growling vocals, this EP grabs you by the throat and bangs your head against the wall for its entire 27:30 running time.

Does it offer anything new or particularly unique? Not really. So what? It does what it sets out to do and that's all I really look for. "Tempest" is a raucous good time as you listen, and has enough rusty hooks in to draw you back listen after listen. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
