BLUE COUPE

"Tornado on the Tracks" (Blue Coupe; 2010)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Talk about a supergroup! Albert and Joe Bouchard (founding members of Blue Oyster Cult) and Dennis Dunaway from the original Alice Cooper band have joined together to form Blue Coupe. "Blue" as in Blue Oyster Cult and "Coupe" as in Alice Cooper? That's what Editor R. Scott Bolton thinks -- seems a bit convenient to me!

The first cut, "You (Like Vampires)" was nominated for a Grammy and I can see why. The song is witty and has a hook that makes me play the song three times each time I spin the CD. The vocals throughout are rough, cutting and slightly scary and it seems to fit perfectly.

This CD is just fun! Nothing too deep, just solid music done very well. There is something about these three musicians together that makes magic and I think I may have to go spin it again right now!
