BRAVE LAST DAYS

"Brave Last Days" (Jumberlack; 2009)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

Brave Last Days self-titled CD is an intriguing combination of classic rock in the vein of Tom Petty with a little twist of alternative rock, a la David Bowie, thrown in.

Consisting of two musicians, vocalist Billy O'Neill, and indie-rock producer Boogie on music, Brave Last Days earns high marks for clever lyrics and rock radio-friendly songs, but may be sometimes be a little too slow-paced or not hard enough for Rough Edge Readers.

Still, an enjoyable album overall, impressively performed, expertly written and obviously a labor of love.
