COBRA SPELL

"Supernova Overdrive" (Napalm Records; 2023)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Back in the day (prior to 2005), before streaming, we got our music by either buying it or getting it from the record company or band (in CD form) and, before that, actual cassette tape! It did not feel like restriction then but, looking back, it was. Streaming has opened up so many new bands to everyone and Cobra Spell is just such a band.

Cobra Spell is an all-female band formed in 2019. This band is super-talented and know how to put together a recording.  I don’t usually list the tracks but this time I feel justified:
666
S.E.X.
Satan is a Women
Hotline 666
Bad Girl Crew
The Devil Inside of Me
Fly Away
Love = Love
Love Crime
Warrior From Hell
You're a Cheater
High on Love

Needless to say, the songs are aptly named. If you like the name of the song, you'll probably like the song itself. Everything here is done very well: Outstanding musicianship, superb songwriting and excellent production value. All this combined makes Cobra Spell, and their release "666," simply outstanding. The more I listen, the more I like this recording.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
