DESTROYER DESTROYER

"Littered with Arrows" (Goodfellow Records; 2007)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

Frankly, Destroyer Destroyer's "Littered with Arrows" scared the shit out of me.

A cacophony of purportedly organized noise, "Littered with Arrows" consists of flailing guitars (customized 7-string guitars, no less), frenzied drums, a psychotic bassline and vocals that are the screams of those being tortured in ways even our sick minds cannot even imagine. It's a Frankenstein conglomeration of everything fast, furious and tumultuous.

If there was a soundtrack to hell, this is it. And, because it's the soundtrack to hell, there are those who will find the insanity of "Littered with Arrows" to be exactly what they're looking for. On the promotional material the record company tells us that '"Littered With Arrows' is no easy listen, but no one said extreme music was easy listening." Truer word have never been spoken and "Littered With Arrows" is the evidence that backs them up.
