DRAGON FIRE

"Ready to Burn" (Self produced)

Reviewed by Christopher J. Kelter

Dragon Fire is the musical equivalent of having mud slung in your eyes - and liking it. With a sound reminiscent of the power of Pantera and modern groove metal, Dragon Fire utilizes a huge percussive and precise attack to get their point across. And what might that point be? Heavy music rules.

The lyrics deal with shady people undermining the good this world has to offer. Samples from "The Matrix" and "Twelve Monkeys" are woven into the tracks - nothing like snippets from these two movies to bolster the band's scenario of a future world gone very wrong.

"Speak Up" rages with intensity, "Cutting Dead Weight" displays the band's penchant for power and groove, and "Rush" introduces a more dirge-like element to Dragon Fire's fury. "You Thought" antes up the speed and aggressive attack with more scathing vocals.

"Ready To Burn" was recorded and mixed at Audible Images Studios.

Dragon Fire is "Robo" Ron Riley as lead throat, Chris Peters on guitars, Eric Shumac on bass, and Steve Stuckey on drums.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
