THE DROGUES

"No Facts That Don't Fit" (Waxbrain; 2005)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

I didn't dislike The Drogues' "No Facts That Don't Fit" but I know I won't listen to it often. The band is made up of obviously talented musicians but the music has more of an alternative flair than is to my liking. Think something along the lines of the Buzzcocks or a little Jane's Addiction and you get an idea. And, while the tracks don't sound exactly the same, they're all pretty close. It wasn't long before I was glancing at the window of my CD player, wondering if one song had ended and the other begun.

As I said, there's undeniable talent at work here and the fact may be that "No Facts That Don't Fit" just isn't my kind of music. Maybe it's yours. Check out the websites listed below, listen to a few tracks and let the music be your guide.

The Drogues: Mark Smith - guitar, vocals; Ray Larsen - bass, vocals; Kevin Crouse - drums, vocals.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
