ENGAGE

"Demo" (Self-released; 2005)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Engage's seven song demo is vastly superior to many "signed" bands out there. For an unsigned band to have such range and quality is almost unheard of. "Outstanding" is a word not to be used lightly when reviewing music, but I would say it certainly fits Engage.

The music is in the vein of Iron Maiden meets Saxon and then takes it even further. Engage's demo is that good despite its rawness in certain areas (areas that could easily be smoothed by the right producer).

For a demo to get four guitarsaws from me is virtually unheard of. That being said, if I could give Engage a higher grade I would. This CD is simply exceptional.
