FASTER PUSSYCAT

"Like a Ghost" (Golden Robot; 2022)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

We don't usually review singles here, even so-called "Double A-Side singles," but when this Faster Pussycat release crossed my desk I thought, yeah, I'm gonna review that one.

"Like a Ghost" is a two track single (Double A-Side!) with an all new track, "Like a Ghost," and a Johnny Thunders cover, "Pirate Love."

Both tracks have a raw, gritty, Sunset Boulevard, feel that's pure rock'n'roll. It's almost impossible not to get caught up in either track. "Like a Ghost" with its irresistible chorus and nostalgic atmosphere and "Pirate Love," which takes the Johnny Thunders track into even rawer territory and, in my opinion, improves upon the original.

After listening to these two songs, I'm really hoping for a an all-new Faster Pussycat release. I don't know if that's in the works, but I've got my fingers crossed.
