DIM GALL

"One Horn Guitar" (Self-released; 2005)

Instrumental music needs to work harder to get my attention and keep it. That may not be fair, but that is what it is.

Dim Gall's "One Horn Guitar" features some stunningly good guitar. It actually reminds me a bit of Joe Satriani, and that's no faint praise. Unfortunately, there are only three songs on this demo EP and, especially with an instrumental recording, that just isn't enough music to tell me much about a band or artist.

Bottom line: I like what I hear on this CD but I don't know if there's enough creativity here to hold up for a full-length CD. That being said, I look forward to hearing more from Dim Gall.
