GRYP

"Gryp" (W Records; 1999)

Reviewed by Snidermann

This five song demo (actually four song, one song is repeated) is good, solid rock done by musicians who know what they want.  The music is well thought-out and, although it took me a few spins to get in the groove, once I was in, I was totally in Gryp's corner.

Unfortunately, as I said, this is only a few songs from the band's full-length release so I can't tell you how the other songs are. If they're as good as the songs herein, then I'd give Gryp three chainsaws. But I haven't heard them, so, alas, I cannot. (Hint, hint, W Records).

Gryp: Curtis Shamin - voice; Jason Garcia - guitar; Jeremy David - bass; Mike Sharp - drums.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
