HIVESMASHER

"Gutter Choir" (Black Market Activities; 2012)

Reviewed by Mike SOS

Hivesmasher is an explosive six-headed monster hailing from Massachusetts whose 17-track musical presentation, "Gutter Choir," is a celebration of grinding technical metal depravity.

Brimming over with chaos, this squad serves up rabid bursts of aggression (“No Structure, Total Violence,” “Ugly Cat”) with sideways twists (“Can of Awesometism,” “Damaged (p)inc”) to proudly complement the likes of Pig Destroyer, Brutal Truth, Wormrot, and Graf Orlock in messing with the minds of listeners worldwide (“Lust in Creation’s Wake”).

Angry and destructive with massive musicality to boot, Hivesmasher is an essential listen for folks who cant live without the blistering madness that only the grindcore genre can muster.
