INGLORIOUS

"V" (Frontiers New Music; 2025)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

UK hard rockers Inglorious have delivered a solid slab of muscled music with their latest album, "V."

Most of the tracks here are driving, chugging tunes that dare you not to pump your fists in the air and/or bang your fists (spoiler alert: you can't help yourself). The rhythm section gives the entire album it's rock-hard spine, while the guitars bring the aforementioned muscle. And lead vocalist Nathan James is one of the most confident and competent singers we've heard in a while.

There are a couple times when the album slows down, with the closing track, "Power of Truth" and especially on "Believe." "Silent" also comes close.. These tracks could be called the token ballads, but they all work to a certain degree. It all depends on your patience for these kind of songs.

My favorite tracks were "Say What You Wanna Say" (despite the vocal filter, which I am not a fan of, the song still works well); the bigger-than-life "Stand" and the rollicking gallop of "In Your Eyes." But choosing favorites is tough on this one because every track is pretty damn good.

Bottom line is this: When someone says rock'n'roll is dead, tell them to fuck off, give them a copy of this album, and prove them wrong.
