LEVL

"Controlled By Time" (Punctured; 2001)

Levl is on of those bands that you recognize as being talented from the first spin, however, their music still takes a few spins before you figure it out.

Levl's music is simple and it works: major talent making killer music. Because this is a death metal band, however, the vocals are so gruff and harsh that - after awhile - they come off as tired and monotonous. Still, after listening to the CD repeatedly, it kind of grows on you. After all, it wouldn't be death metal if it didn't have vocals like this. This band from Canada rocks in a frenzied style that is most entertaining.

I'd also like to mention the cover art which is mod and very cool. It's worth checking out!

Levl: Kyle Lamb - vocals; Murray Howes - guitar; Jason Flesh - drums; Todd Pimlott - guitar.

A classic. This record will kick your ass.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
