MICK MARS

"The Other Side of Mars" (1313 LLC; 2024)

Reviewed by Snidermann

I have always liked the music of Motley Crue; however, I did not like the excess and all the other bullshit. So, I wasn't a huge fan of any of the individual members, including Mick Mars (I would maybe call it dislike by association). Anyway, this is 2024 and Mick Mars is no longer in Motley Cure and he's released a solo recording entitled "The Other Side of Mars. This is rock'n'roll unlike anything the Crue has recorded in decades. The music is (of course) heavy guitar, but it does not stop there. There are a few ballads mixed in just to lighten up the atmosphere but by no means it this anything but a rock'n'roll record. The music and lyrics make you think and, when it also rocks like a bitch, you know you are in the middle of one killer release.

All of "The Other Side of Mars" is fun and easy to listen to and it takes you on a musical experience that I did not even know I needed. Mick Mars and this new recording is a big hit in my book and I think it needs another spin right now.
