NEO GEO

"Digital DNA" (Hardline Entertainment; 2013)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Women who front rock'n'roll bands are uber popular now and Rainy Terrell from Neo Geo is just the latest in this trend. The name of this release is "Digital DNA" and the music ranges from light techno to rock to pop and some music I really can't identify.

Sure, "Digital DNA" isn't as heavy as the stuff we usually review, but this musical presentation is something that latched onto my soul and has never really given it up. There are a few things about this recording that are simply outstanding: the songwriting ability of the band is simply magical, plus there is also the chemistry of the bandmembers. It's apparent they like what they do and they do a great job of doing it. And, finally the singer, Rainy Terrell: her voice comes across like a strong beacon in the night.

Yeah, Neo Geo is lighter than your usual Rough Edge fare, but I frickin' dug it anyway, big time.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
