PARIS, TEXAS

"Like You Like An Arsonist" (New Line; 2004)

Reviewed by Snidermann

I have gone on record saying that all punk is good punk. Sometimes I don't care for the really dark stuff, but, most of the time, all punk is good punk. Paris, Texas is proof of that.

The music on "Like You Like an Arsonist" is light and non-abrasive, with lyrics that are fun and easy to listen to. This band's form of punk is lighthearted and fun -- without resorting to spongerock -- and it also sounds like the band is having fun. In my book, that's a big plus.

Unlike some of the so called punks bands out there today, Paris, Texas has substance and style, playing music that they obviously like and enjoy playing. The energy is there on "Like You Like an Arsonist" and it bursts forth from every track.
