PORTIKUS

"Virtual World" (Self-produced)

Reviewed by Snidermann

Progressive metal is alive and well and seems to be getting stronger day by day. And, with bands like Portikus, it will not be going away anytime soon.

On "Virtual World," Slovakia's Portikus can and does rock hard and with style. The music is full of energy and you can tell these guys have a great time making music. Unfortunately, some of the words are hard to understand and the vocals sometimes sound strained.

The range of emotions is wide and runs the gamut from a single, simple thought to a complete, complex feeling. That is a tough trick yet Portikus does it with ease.
