"The City Sleeps in Flames" (Immortal; 2005)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

More often than not, "The City Sleeps in Flames" falls squarely into the emo/screamo genre and, as such, doesn't really stand out from other acts in the same vein. That means they're no better or no worse ... and certainly no different.

That being said, fans of the genre will no doubt find this band interesting at least, and I can tell you first hand that their live show is something to be seen. Unfortunately, "The City Sleeps in Flames" doesn't fare as well in studio form as it does live.
