STONECREEP

"Tonight We Ride!" (Self-released; 2005)

Reviewed by Snidermann

A cool band name isn't essential in rock'n'roll, but it certainly helps. Take Stonecreep, for example. The band's name tells you virtually nothing about the band. So what do they sound like?

Well, from the very first track, "Tonight We Ride" took hold of me and taught me a few quick things: Stonecreep is highly talented, they rock like a bitch and they obviously have fun doing what they do. Hey, what more do you need?

The only downside I can see with "Tonight We Ride" is that the CD features only five songs -- then again, it's only six bucks on the band's website so that's not necessarily a bad thing. And, the six tracks that are here are very impressive. Judging from the killer music on this CD, the band must just smoke live!

Stonecreep: Aaron Mullaney - lead guitar and drunken stagedives; Matt Litton - guitar and vocals; Mike Townsend - drums; Andy Mercil - bass guitar and make out king.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
