TEASER SWEET

"Night Stalker" (High Roller Records; 2025)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

Teaser Sweet's "Night Stalker" is a fascinating collection of hard rock tunes that bring to mind female-fronted greats like Pat Benatar, Joan Jett and Doro Pesch. The songs are solid guitar rockers, ensconced in hard rock and heavy metal territory with driving riffs, explosive leads, throbbing bass and pounding drums, paired with powerful female vocals that buoy the songs with their balance and emotion.

My favorite tracks were the spiraling "Deep in the Woods," the heavier "Eat You Alive" and, surprisingly, the slower-paced "Blue Sky" with its rolling rhythm and clean production. I also enjoyed the Iron Maiden-esque gallop of "Deep In the Woods."

Fans of the aforementioned artists (Benatar, Jett, Pesch) will certainly find something to their liking on "Night Stalker." I know I did.
