THROCULT

"Hunted" (Self-produced)

Reviewed by Christopher J. Kelter

"Hunted" is a three-track teaser of pre-production versions of songs to be included on the proper full-length release "The Flower Of Flesh And Blood."

The first track, "Kill Or Be Killed," is a classic slab of keyboard driven black metal with a death metal influence. "Hunted" is the second track, and—although it sounds like a mechanized Cradle Of Filth—hints at the potential of the band's diversity and willingness to take chances. The third track, "Eclipse Of The Blood Moon," displays Throcult's talents at adding a raw, more chaotic, more death-like element to their sound.

All in all, "Hunted" is a good introduction to Throcult. Fans of black metal and death thrash will find a lot to like about Throcult.

The "Hunted" EP was produced by Dave Otero (Serberus) and Throcult. For a pre-production demo the mix is pretty good.

Throcult is Chris Vigil on vocals, Nick Jackson and Ivan Alcala on guitars, Brian Fisher on keyboards, Cassie Begay on bass, and Dustin Parsons on drums.
