"Dracula 2000" Original Soundtrack (Sony Music; 2000)

Reviewed by Snidermann

This soundtrack for the Wes Craven-produced horror film cooks better than any soundtrack I have ever heard, bar none. Each and every song fits like a tight rubber glove, each complementing the others beautifully.

The CD starts out with an extremely potent song from Powerman 5000 and just gets better from there on. A great list of performers working at their best. Check out this lineup:

Powerman 5000
Pantera
Disturbed
Static-X
Slayer
(Hed) P.E.
System Of a Down
Taproot
Monster Magnet
Endo
Godhead featuring Marilyn Manson
Flybanger
Linkin Park
Half Cocked
Saliva

Even the lesser known bands contribute tremendously energetic and entertaining tracks. There are some bands on this disc that I have never heard from before but, believe me, after hearing this CD, I'm going to go out and look their other releases up.

A true overachiever in the hard rock/horror film soundtrack genre. And the movie was pretty damn good, too!

Rating Guide:

A classic. This record will kick your ass.

Killer. Not a classic but it will rock your world.

So-so. You've heard better.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
