"Underworld: Music From the Motion Picture" (Lakeshore; 2003)

Reviewed by Snidermann

This soundtrack to the motion picture "Underworld" is a strange collection of off-the-wall tunes that are fortunately head and shoulders above the actual movie.

Someone with a very strange, sick and twisted mind brought this eclectic group of talent together and there hasn't been a soundtrack this strange since David Lynch's 1998 "Lost Highway."

Don't get me wrong: There are some songs here that I didn't like at all and others I just didn't get but, somehow, they all seem to fit in with the overall atmosphere and added to the overall appeal of this record. This is strange, dark and perverse stuff and, candidly, the movie that was playing in my head while I listened to this CD was much better than the one that played in theaters.

"Underworld," the soundtrack, is a totally awesome aural journey.

Pretty bad. Might make a nice coaster.

Self explanatory. Just the sight of the cover makes you wanna hurl.
