Vex Red is a band with a double-edged sword ... or maybe a loaded, double barrel shot gun.

On one hand, the band is hard and edgy with major soul. When they rock, they rock and their passion just explodes from the CD. On the other hand, their music is often so slow and melodically sludgy that it depressed me to the point of wanting to use the previously mentioned shotgun with both barrels pointed at my head.

The good is good, but the bad sucks like a tornado. Unfortunately, I think the sucks prevails. Maybe this year's Warped Tour will give the band a chance to tone up their sound.
