You know that feeling when you show up for a concert, you're a little late, and the opening band has already started? That electric feeling of the music pounding at your ear drums, the band on stage, going through their heavy metal motions. The audience on their feet, their fists pumping? That sense self of self, that little voice that tells you "This is where I'm supposed to be"?
That's the feeling you get when listening to "Winds of Time" by the similarly named band, "Wings of Steel." It's classic, old school, heavy metal, complete with flesh-cutting riffs, throbbing rhythms, furious leads, and vocals that fearlessly soar and, at the appropriate times, unflinchingly reach that classic falsetto pitch. This recording sounds like you're at a live show, standing right in front of the amplifiers. You can almost feel your pants legs moving to the beat.
"Winds of Time" is big, ballsy, unabashedly classic heavy metal. If you're reading reviews at this website, this album is something you'd undoubtedly be interested in.
