WOLFGANG BANG

"What Are You Going to Do?" (ESM; 2006)

Reviewed by R. Scott Bolton

"What Are You Going to Do?" is pure, unadulterated punk that falls somewhere between the chaotic noise of the Sex Pistols and the driving, crystalline sound of the Ramones. It's refreshing to listen to a CD that so relishes its origins and sticks to them from track to track to track.

More than anything else, "What Are You Going to Do" reminds me of a Dee Dee Ramone CD. It's got the raw, raunchy vocals, the driving punk beats and the clever, though-provoking lyrics. Yeah, some of it sounds too much like the rest of it but, for the most part, it's catchy, energetic and fun to listen to.

Wolfgang Bang: Mikk - vox, guitar; Hiroshi - drums; K.C. - bass.
