YEAH RIGHT

"New Era" (Tanir Publishing)

Reviewed by Snidermann

YEAH RIGHT is a three piece metal band based in Los Angeles. Their release, "New Era" - on the Tanir Publishing label - is hard, down-to-earth rock'n'roll. The band's female singer, Rinat, is also the bassist and the combination works: she rocks the bass line and her vocals are strong and unique. Her vocal style took a little getting used to at first and sometimes sounds a bit too '80's but for the most part Rinat can belt out metal tunes with the best of them - at times, she even reminded me of early Lita Ford.

Guitarist Steve Riple and Bryan West round out the team, delivering crunchy yet melodic guitar work and a thunderous yet accessible beat. Yeah Right is a killer band with a new twist on hard rock/heavy metal music. The music is tight, to the point, heavy, and more than a little catchy. In fact, sometimes the hooks can get a little repetitive. The band's lyrics are excellent and easy to get caught up in.

YEAH RIGHT is Steve Riple, guitars; Rinat, bass & vocals; Bryan West, drums.
