...RISE TO ADDICTION are putting the finishing touches to their debut album. A total of twelve songs have been recorded for the the next CD, tentatively entitled "All Human Life." Says the band's guitarist, John Slater: "I suppose this is how Def Leppard felt when recording 'Hysteria.' I am of course referring to freedom in the studio. Usually we write the songs and rehearse them over and over again until we can hold full conversations whilst playing them. Then record them. This time was different. We wrote the songs, rehearsed them, gigged some of them, tweaked them, demoed them and finally tweaked them once more. It's been a really fun way to make music. We're all really pleased with the results. Unlike Hysteria we've no intentions of layering 18 vocal overdubs - we haven't got time. We had no intentions of spending this long in the studio but hey, its like going to your favourite pub. Until the landlord rings that bell you'll keep drinking and right now it feels like 1:15AM. Lock-in!" For more information, check out http://www.risetoaddiction.com

...Sound Riot Records has issued the following, impassioned plea: "Metalheads need to stop get copied CD-R, this is killing bands, record-labels, etc. The situation is difficult and nobody seems to see this, there is free download of the albums and people don't care with their favorite artists and Underground bands, the bands and labels need profit to pay their compromises and when you get a copied CD-R or when you did a free download, remember you are killing the Scene! So do change your attitude right now and support bands, do order CD's!!!"...

...Former McAuley Schenker Group (MSG) frontman Robin McAuley has replaced Jim Jamison as the new lead vocalist for SURVIVOR. Guitarist Frankie Sullivan explains: “I first met Robin in 1988 when my good friend and Grammy Award-winning engineer, Frank Filipetti, felt in his gut that Robin and I would be really comfortable together and that meeting would lead to great times and great music." However, "When we made the decision to replace Jamison, I had no idea what we would do. Then it hit me--Robin McAuley! Is he available? How can he possibly be available?! Can I be lucky yet again in my career to work with such a talented singer? Well, the short answer, he was available, we gave him the songs of a set list we would perform, he came to the Windy City and blew our socks off! Robin is a pure pleasure to work with and he’s such a great person. With Robin, what you see is what you get. And boy do you get it!” Adds McAuley: "I’m very excited at this opportunity to sing for Survivor. I can only hope the Survivor fans give me a fighting chance. Frankie and I have worked together in the past I am extremely excited to start writing with him again and playing with a great bunch of guys. This new Survivor promises to be full of energy, and with such a stable of awesome tunes to pick from, who knows what each show will bring. I’m ready!"
