...Burns USA guitars will release a BRIAN MAY Signature guitar in North America sometime next year. The guitar, which will make its debut at the Winter NAMM Exposition in January, is the product of 22 prototypes with the goal of creating an affordable replica of May's handmade "Red Special" that he has played throughout his career. ...KORIHOR will release their debut CD, "Blasphemikaholik Terrorist," on February 10, 2001. The CD contains (in the band's words) "7 tracks of Satanik armageddon with killer riffs, razor sharp guitar solos, 666 miles/hr onslaught of unholy beats, ear shredding screams, and war anthem bass lines." ...MEREDINE ATOMICHE has signed with French label DeadSun Records and will begin recording their new album next August with Tomas Skogsberg. The band is preparing to tour Europe in 2002...


...COSMOSQUAD, featuring Mogg/Way guitarist Jeff Kollman, bassist Barry Sparks (Uli Jon Roth, Dokken), and drummer Shane Gaalaas (Uli Jon Roth, Glenn Hughes), will play two shows to ring in the holidays. The first show is scheduled is about December 12th at the Baked Potato in North Hollywood and on December 15th at the Hard Hat in Toleda, OH. This will be the fist time Kollman will play his home town with Cosmosquad. The band's sophomore release is scheduled for a spring 2002 release. ...THE CROWN are finally going back into the studio to re-master their new CD, "Crowned In Terror," due in stores in March 2002...


...CATTLE DECAPITATION, death grinders out of California, are in negotiations to sign with Metal Blade Records. The band, originally formed as a side project of THE LOCUST, have gathered lots of great reports from those who have witnessed them in action. Says vocalist Travis Ryan:"To us it is an honor to be chosen by a label that is responsible for such greats as Rigor Mortis, Cryptic Slaughter, Cannibal Corpse and King Diamond as a theater to present to the unfortunate public our brand of extreme music". The band's Metal Blade debut, "To Serve Man," and a tour are due in mid-2002...


...ARMORED SAINT's Jeff Duncan has signed a sponsorship deal with ESP Guitars...


...ENGINE, featuring Fates Warning front man Ray Alder, Armored Saint bassist Joey Vera, Face to Face drummer Pete Parada, and Agent Steel axe slinger Bernie Verssalies, are in the midst of writing new material for future Metal Blade release...


...In other Metal Blade news, the label - one of, if not the premiere metal label of all time, will release a 20th Anniversary Box Set spanning the label's history. The set will contain 9 CDs and 1 DVD. No release date has been set but this is one exciting project...
