This incredible collection will contain 62, count 'em, 62 Deep Purple tracks from over 20 of the band's albums. Included will be many rare and unreleased tracks, including demos, movie soundtracks, album outtakes, non-LP B-sides and live performances. The set will be packaged in a foil-stamped digi-box with the deep purple logo embossed on the cover and will contain a 56-page book written by Jim Ladd and Mick Wall. The only thing that sucks about this set is that we have to wait until March to get it. Sight unseen, this is one definite must-have for 1999...

...It isn't many bands that can call themselves a cross between ALICE COOPER and JAMES BROWN, but SHANGO does just that. The band, whose "Metal Mafia" is available on Back Room Records, impressed the hell out of the audience at last summer's Milwaukee Metalfest - so much, in fact, that they were invited to return next year - to the East Coast Metal Meltdown scheduled for March 1999. SHANGO is "the most entertaining band in show biz today," says BOBBY RODINELLI, drummer for such acts as BLUE OYSTER CULT, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW and QUIET RIOT. Adds SHANGO frontman Tony Incigeri: "The ("Metal Mafia") CD is nothing like seeing us. There's a big difference." SHANGO is playing on December 19th at the Unknown Pup in Brooklyn, New York.
