PICK OF THE WEEK
NUTTY PROFESSOR II: THE KLUMPS
(Universal)
Starring Eddie Murphy, Janet Jackson, Eddie Murphy, Larry Miller and Eddie
Murphy
Yeah, it's crude. Yeah, it's crass. But it also has an amazing amount of heart.
Eddie Murphy returns as Professor Sherman Klump (and his family) in this sequel
to the smash hit original remake of the Jerry Lewis original (whew!). This one's
more of the same: Sherman and his alter-ego Buddy Love go head-to-head over
which one will survive and claim the love of Janet Jackson. Very funny, with a
comic performance by Murphy that is nothing short of amazing, "The Nutty
Professor II" is filled with sophomoric humor, but nothing that should
really offend anyone. DVD features include audio
commentary by director Peter Segal, an audio conversation with Segal and Brian
Grazer, "Spotlight on Location" featurette; deleted scenes; extended
scenes; outtakes, a look at the makeup process; storyboards and final feature
comparison; Janet Jackson video; trailer; production notes; cast and filmmaker
bios; DVD-ROM features. $26.98.
