Sometimes—especially now, with Black Sabbath playing their final show—you just want some hammering, old school heavy metal. And that's exactly what you'll get with King Witch and their third album, "III."
"III" is eight tracks of powerful bulldozer heavy metal, with crushing riffs, pounding drums, driving bass and vocals that are crisp, clear and mighty. The production is designed to push all those things to their maximum efficiency and it works perfectly.
My favorite tracks were the Sabbath-y "Deal with the Devil," the propulsive "Diggin' in the Dirt," and the haunting 8-minute closer, "Last Great Wilderness."
Fans of all eras of Black Sabbath, Dio, Candlemass and the like will find King Witch's "III" to their liking.
King Witch: Laura Donnelly - vocals; Jamie Gilchrist - guitar; Rory Lee - bass; Andrew Scott - drums.
